With everything in the news lately about major online companies, government surveillance, and the question of what happens to your data in the cloud, you may find yourself interested in “trimming” the tree of information out there about you and your family.
Account Killer is a website which helps you understand how to delete account information from many popular websites. It also contains a handy “blacklist” of sites which list companies who don’t allow you to delete your data at all.
From the Account Killer website:
“Do you care about your personal data? We provide instructions to remove your account or public profile on most popular websites, including Skype, Facebook, Windows Live, Hotmail / Live, Twitter, MSN / Messenger, Google and many more. Want to create an account somewhere? Check our Blacklist first to see if it’s even possible to remove your profile!”
A handy tool to keep in your pocket, especially when you need those “hard to find” instructions on closing accounts and protecting your information.
