People, I’ve said it in the past, and I’ll say it again: Stop attaching massive files to your email messages.
If you’re still doing it, here’s why you should stop:
1. It clogs up users’ email boxes on the server, resulting in delayed or bounced messages.
2. Spam filters often trash email messages with attachments.
3. When downloaded once, occasionally attachments are deleted from the server, making the file unavailable if the recipient needs to download a copy to home computers or mobile devices.
There are tons of good tools out there for sharing files with others. Dropbox is a good way to synchronize and share a folder of information with others, but it does come with a little setup. However, if you want to be able to quickly and easily share a single file via a link, you should try Droplr.com.
Stephen Caver of Happy Cog writes: “If you need to share any kind of file with friends or co-workers look no further. Droplr couldn’t be more seamless and passing around any image file, text snippet or block of code is always a breeze.”
To share a file, simply drag it from your desktop right into the browser upload window. Automatically, you’ll receive a link you can then share with others.
There are also Mac, Windows, and iPhone apps you can use with Droplr as well.
