This week we continue our vocabulary-building series, “The Closing Word.” Each week we provide a new word to help build your vocabulary and show you an example of how to use it.

This week’s closing word:

bespoke

Pronounced: (bih-SPOKE)

Adjective:
custom made; made-to-order; tailored

From Vocabulary.com: “Bespoke can also describe non-clothing items that are made-to-order, as well as the person who makes such things: a bespoke jeweler. The term was originally bespoken, meaning “spoken of or arranged beforehand.”

Example:
“After spending a summer abroad in Spain, the couple decided they wanted a bespoke bathroom modeled after a luxury hotel in Barcelona.”
