This week’s closing word:

soporific

Pronounced: (SOP-oh-riff-ick)

Adjective:
1. sleep inducing
2. inducing mental lethargy

Noun:
a drug that induces sleep

From Vocabulary.com: “In the 1680′s, soporific, which doubles as both adjective and noun, was formed from the French soporifique. That word, in turn, came from the Latin sopor ”deep sleep.”

Example:
“PowerPoint presentations in meetings can be powerfully soporific, so don’t rely on them too heavily if you want to hold people’s attention.”
