It’s common sense that before you list a home, you want it in its best possible condition. Curb appeal discussions with prospective sellers is key, and we’ve even been supplying a free guide, “The Keys to Killer Curb Appeal” for over two years.
But one area agents often overlook is the effect of their own signs on curb appeal. One one level, we’re talking about the current shape of the sign itself: Is it faded? Chipping? Does it look ratty or otherwise like something you’d want to have a pair of gloves on before handling? What about the frame? Is it rusting? If you’re using a cross arm post, is it straight and clean? Does the sign hang true, or is it listing at a sick angle?
A nice, clean yard will only highlight the flaws in a sign that needs replacing. Yet there’s even more to consider when it comes to the curb appeal of a yard sign: Is it engaging prospects with useful information and a call to action? Or is it just your phone number and a rider?
Recently we came across an excellent article by LoudonScene.com REALTOR® Danilo Bogdanovic which talks about how creating a custom sign with abundant information can enhance the curb appeal of a home, impress your clients, and attract more buyers. We strongly recommend you read Danilo’s article:
